Systems Day # 9 Inventor 2

Unit EQ: How are technological Systems Different?
LEQ: Are complex systems always closed loop?
Activating Strategies: Open Inventor 2 and ask students to tell you what the program does.
Acceleration/Previewing/Vocabulary: System,Open Loop, Closed Loop, Programmed Control,
Teaching Strategies and Distributed Guided Practice/Summarizing Prompts:
Teach about modifiers

  1. Modifiers are on the Functions Palette
  2. In order to use modifiers you must choose motor objects that have no port letter.
  3. You can modify which port and the power level of the device connected.
  4. Ports can be a-c for motors and lights
  5. Sensors are modified to 1-4 and sensitivity level


Challenge: The original program makes the robot spin with a light on. Modify this so that the robot rotates in a wider circle.
Summarizing Strategies:
This system is getting more complex. Think-Pair-Share. Is this systems a closed loop. Why? What would you have to do to make it a closed loop system.

Use the Jump stucture to create a looping system.
